From Damaged Goods To Coming out on Top

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Lisa Butler has always had a passion for helping people, the arts, being creative and writing. In 2003, not long after she became a mother, she jumped head-first into the world of Full-Figured modeling. Lisa produced shows and even placed in the Miss Full-Figured Metropolitan competition. A few years later, she decided to hone in on another one of her gifts, exhortation. Lisa began doing motivational speaking for women’s groups, with areas of concentration like raising self-esteem and becoming a better woman. Through working as a Program Coordinator for a non-profit organization, she learned how to plan events and began doing so for the church she attends, The Pillar Worship Center. In 2011, Lisa self-published her first novel, Damaged Goods. Even though she has always written poetry and short stories, this was her greatest accomplishment as a writer. Her novel tells the story of a young lady who labeled herself as Damaged Goods because of the things she went through in her life and the way people treated her. She engages readers by evoking emotions ranging from happiness to anger to joy. As of recently, Lisa began modeling again and is currently working on her second novel, What Don’t Kill Me. She also has a new motivational blog, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life (www.cymcyl.blogspot.com), where she continues to uplift and motivate her followers. Be sure to purchase a copy of Lisa Book titled Damaged Goods
